....and recipe for Parmesan Movie Popcorn
Submitted by: Kathy Gunst
Nothing completes video night at home like a bowl of homemade popcorn. Try this version, which begins with plain microwave popcorn.
Ingredients
1 package natural light microwave popcorn1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Salt
Preparations
Microwave the popcorn according to package instructions, then transfer the popped kernels to a large bowl. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Drizzle the butter evenly over the popcorn, and gently toss popcorn to coat. Add cheese and salt to taste, and mix again. (Makes 4 servings)Variations
For a spicy twist, sprinkle a bit of cayenne pepper on the popcorn at the end. Some of my favorite feel-good movies include As Good As it Gets, Multiplicity, Sabrina, The Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, While You Were Sleeping, Forrest Gump, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail. I watch Mulitplicity for the Belly-laugh - it's very therapeutic. I also enjoy musicals and many others I can't remember. I notice Redbox has added classics to their lineup now so when there's nothing decent in the recent releases you can find an old favorite that keeps drawing you back. Remember when we couldn't watch oldies or even new ones whenever we wanted?
