Belfast Telegraph Article on Baptism

"Let’s look at the facts as understood by the early followers of Christ. For more than 300 years after the Crucifixion, baptism of the dead was widely accepted, its biblical basis located in 1 Corinthians 15, 29: “Otherwise, what shall they do who are baptised for the dead if the dead rise not again at all? Why are they then baptised for them.” In other words, a deceased person could be baptised by proxy: otherwise, how could such a person be included in the Resurrection? A good question."

After the baptism we hurried for a photo before everyone dispersed but Rob and Alex had mysteriously disappeared. They later turned up in the car but meanwhile we got this shot of the rest of the attendees. Top Row - Fred, Chris, Ken, Christine (Rob's sister), Scott (brother-in-law). Middle Row - Noah, Jennifer, Natalie, Debbie, Adam, Ashlie, Megan (Olivia's cousin just released from the hospital), Nicholas (Megan's brother). Bottom Row: Emma, Olivia, Elizabeth. Most of the gang. 2005 - Steve was in Arizona for training and Asher wasn't born yet. The next time everyone was together, half the kids were sick so we didn't get a group photo. Maybe next time.

Jordan and Adam's baptisms. Jordan waited until they got home from Japan so the family could be present and Adam waited until Jordan returned because it meant a lot to him for them to do it together.

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling.
