Tuesday

FYI: I will not be reachable most of the day today!

I have "program planning" at work so will be away from the phones, computer and other interruptions. This is where we figure out how we can implement public health changes for maternal/infant health to be in line with the Healthy People 2010 goals. So, checking out.

Liz, Madi, Barrett and Karla will arrive Tuesday evening. Everyone is very excited to see them again. Liz said she would carry Jon's father's day gift all the way in the car (4 days' drive). Karla's cousin is driving them. With so much happening here, it feels pretty chaotic.

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling.
