Halloween!

To see a short clip about the history of Halloween, click on the post title. It turns out the holiday had it's earliest origins in Ireland and came to the USA with the massive immigration during the potato famine. The Christian holiday was actually Nov. 1 when the Pope, in an effort to combat the pagan holiday of summer's end, declared this to be All Hallow's Day to honor "all saints". So, the October 31st holiday continued but was then called the Eve of All Hallow's Day or Hallowe'en.
