LDS Church buildings targeted

Dr. Elia discusses the recent vandalism to LDS chapels. He asks why media coverage is so localized and compares what we would be seeing if a synagogue or mosque had been attacked - surely we would hear outcries of anti-semitism, etc. Something to think about. Read it here.
"The LDS Church espouses certain core beliefs called the Articles of Faith. The 11th Article of Faith says, "We claim the privilege of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

One of the greatest aspects of our democracy, the Bill of Rights and our beloved Constitution is the right to worship as we please. Freedom of religion means the right to worship without fear or intimidation, and certainly that includes respect for our places of worship.

I hope and pray that these recent acts of religious intolerance and bigotry will soon come to an end. In the meantime, we must remain united and vigilant in defense of all places of worship."

  1. It really is tragic that some people can't seem to tolerate other people's beliefs being different from their own. I wonder why this is a problem that comes up repeatedly throughout history.

I know there are some LDS people who get a bit condescending, but I've never heard of any of them burning down some other religion's building!
