A Rare Event for Me

I actually saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull the first week it opened. I never do this. I usually wait for the DVD or see a show at the dollar theater. It's not that I couldn't live without it but it was fun - purely nonsensical fantasy, action-packed, no-bruising-or-swelling fighting, massive numbers of people-eating critters, reuniting of lost love, international plot, extraterrestrial creatures, and an "old-guy" Harrison Ford (even referred to as "old man" and "daddy-o" - hey it takes place in 1957). But he is still pretty cute to my fifty-something eyes. Has it really been that long since Star Wars was released? And 27 years since Raiders of the Lost Ark....

If you care to read Orson Scott Card's critique of the film click the post title.

I will admit that I was disappointed when we went to Disneyland last fall and the Indy ride was not working!!! It is my favorite after all.

  1. We just watched the Temple of Doom on tv last weekend. I'm looking forward to this one... but I'll need to wait until the DVD comes out, lol. I'll have to admit, I'm more than shocked that you saw a movie when it was a new release!!! I don't think I ever remember that happening! :) P.S. You don't have to be 50-something to think Harrison Ford is attractive. It's universal I think!

  2. I can't wait to see this movie either. Just waiting for Jon's big break at work. LOL I can't believe you saw it the week it came out. Yeah for you! I have always had a crush on Harrison Ford, he totally reminds me of my dad with the dimple in his chin and all. I also really like Sean Connery, who played Indiana's dad. Wonder why married a younger man...hmmmm

  3. Yep. It is universal. I think he's cute, too.
