Country Music Concert & Birthday

Today is Alexander's fifth birthday. He'll start kindergarten this year. Happy Birthday to a great kid! He tells me he's having a Pirates of the Caribbean cake for his party. He's very excited about his new baby brother, due in September, but I think he's going to have a little trouble moving over - he adores his mom! Sharing her may be his greatest challenge yet.

Last night Nat's family, Jenn's family, Steve and I attended a fun concert featuring Josh Gracin, Joe Nichols and Collin Raye. They were celebrating UVSC becoming UVU and they put on a real party with a fantastic fireworks show afterward. It was the KUBL "Low Dough Country Concert" (named such because tickets presold for only $5 plus SmithTix's ripoff "fee" of $1.50 per ticket to the first 2,000; then it went to $10, still a deal). The low cost made it possible for families to attend and 15,000 people did. It was a first for the kids and they had a blast. Good thing it was an outdoor concert and we had lawn seating because it allowed them to get up and move a bit, play a card game or read while waiting more than an hour in the 100 degree sun. Once the sun went down it was enjoyable and we were there for six hours! The kids did great!
