Lines should be drawn

The popularity of President Obama seems to be giving him carte blanche and everything he does is cheered. The article here points out a serious concern with his overturning of the stem-cell funding. It's not all about science. Scientists don't know everything. This is frightening. While some research along these lines can lead to good, there is the potential for abuse and Hitler-type science in the name of research - if no brakes are in place.

While people blindly applaud the new president, much damage can be done. Cautious observation and evaluation of any new leader is a good idea and the checks and balances of our government should be preventing radical decisions that could ultimately lead to evil actions by those "scientists" who would abuse it but who now have the green light to do anything they want. It is naive to believe that anyone using this research technique will have ethics and morals to prevent cruelty or the creation of monsters in experimentation. We have to guard against those who have no common sense or morals because as we know, they are out there.

The article is not even written by a religious person; just a cautious one.
