Free Credit Report

Here's a tip: You can request your free annual copy of your credit report here.  There are 3 different reporting agencies and I have heard a financial advisor (Dave Ramsey?) say you should spread the requests out over the year (request one every 4 months rotating through the three agencies, TransUnion, Experian and Equifax) so you don't have to wait a full year to get another one free.  There could be something that shows up on one that doesn't on another so there is a chance you could miss something on the first or even second request but if you don't want to pay to get another, you are better off getting them more frequently because chances are problems will appear on the others as well.  This will allow you to keep tabs a little better.  Write it on your calendar so you won't forget to do it.
