Bluegrass

Tonight I enjoyed seeing my uncle Peter's bluegrass band, "Holdin' Out" and had a fun time. They play at Pat's BBQ on occasion and they have good food (ribs, etc.) at a good price in a casual family atmosphere. They sell beer but that's about it. Peter has been playing dobro for 40 odd years. Melissa who sings vocals is in her late 20s. They had an amazing fiddler who is about to go on his mission to Argentina so it is quite a mix and with the addition of Melissa's guitar (her sister also joins in) and the banjo and base, this makes for great entertainment. They do some fun arrangements of some classic songs in addition to typical bluegrass. I went alone! It gets kind of old going places by myself but it's better than just sitting home:) I can't seem to talk my kids into hanging out with me at some of the things I want to do - go figure!
