Ups and Downs

What a day of highs and lows. Life does tend to do that I think. Two extremes today but it's OK now.

"The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions." - Alfred Lord Tennyson
"Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul.
And sings the tune
Without the words,
and never stops at all."
- Emily Dickinson

"How helpless we are, like netted birds, when we are caught by desire!" - Belva Plain

"Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success." - Brian Adams
