Vacation's End

We had a nice trip to California, including plenty of time idling on the Los Angeles to San Diego freeways for the real Southern Cal experience. We also spent some time in Tijuana - not shopping; just idling for hours waiting to get back out after a wrong turn landed us inside the Mexican border. This was a painful lesson.

I did get to sit on the beach, walk along the surf, eat seafood, visit an antique store, the Getty Center and the Reagan Library (what an amazing place) and of course, Disneyland with the kids. As soon as I can get my photos downloaded in some form that I can recognize to add to the blog I'll do it.

So it was back to work today. Plenty to do to catch up but somehow they managed without me for a week - imagine that!

California Adventure was fun. Our favorite was Soaring over California. For Halloween, it's a candy corn themepark - very cute.

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling.
