The public open house of the Draper Temple (Utah) is underway now. It is estimated that a million people will view the interior prior to its dedication. Saturday tickets are already gone but some are still available here http://www.lds.org/reservations/0,10751,1619-1-501,00.html
Below is a unique photo where two LDS Temples are in the same picture. The Oquirrh Mountain Temple is in the foreground (still under construction). These two are not so far from the Jordan River Temple as well and just around the mountain is the Mt. Timpanogas Temple. The photo was taken by Scott G. Winterton for the Deseret News, you can view the article by clicking the post title.

This is where I share RANDOM rants and ruminations, beliefs, lists, dreams, goals, frustrations, bargains, and social injustices (EVAGATION, n. the act of wandering; excursion; a roving or rambling). More about me than you wanted to know. You may not agree with me but I hope you share my belief that what makes America great is freedom to have and express differing views. Enjoy peeking into my public journal if you want to know that part of me I share here. Enjoy!
beautiful..but these 3 temples sure are close to each other...sheesh :)
ReplyDeleteI know, they are. But Jordan River has been so crowded for so long and parking almost impossible with the increased growth, especially in the south end of the valley, they needed to expand to meet the demand. For people wishing for more temples in remote areas of the world, it can be frustrating but the Church leaders have said when the demand is there the temples will be built. We just have a huge demand here so it's kind of lopsided. Property values always increase where they build one, in spite of some public perception, so that's a plus, especially these days.
ReplyDeleteI wanna go!
