Happy Birthday, Kiyomi!

Kiyomi is a wonderful daughter-in-law. She is also a great cook, great mom and talented artist. Her kids get that trait as well. An interesting thing about Kiyomi that not many people know is that she is proficient at archery. Her mom passed away at Christmas time. It was sad for them but they are happy that she no longer has to be confined to bed and needing complete care. We do hope they will be able to move back to the states very soon.

We miss Kiyomi, Chris and the kids who are in Japan. I'm looking forward to going there at the end of the month for a visit though!

Sorry about your depressing day! You're a really great mom, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. (Ok, I guess you can let them tell you, but don't believe it!)

when you go could you bring me back some Teriyaki chicken, sticky rice and tempura? ha! Japanese food is my #1 favorite...I should have married someone from Japan :(

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling.
