The Hermitage - Tennessee

After touring this beautiful park-like retreat from Andrew Jackson's dream, it is easy to see why it was called The Hermitage. It really feels like a world of its own. There are remnants of history all over the place and most of the furnishings in the home are as they were when it was occupied by Andrew Jackson, his son, Andrew Jr., with wife, Sarah and their three children. Rachel died earlier, but she had loved the cabin he built her. The second video shows cabins, including the original homestead which was altered to be used as slave housing after the mansion was built.
