Flowers!

The day my dad died, I received these flowers from Jon :)

And these from Steve and Aubrey...

These from Harv, Joanne, Scott, Christine, Megan and Nick (Nat's in-laws)...

Then I went back to work today and these flowers were in my office from the women I work with. They know me well - Kathy also gave me a huge box of chocolate truffles. She knows chocolate is my favorite form of therapy!

I also received cards and FB wishes from so many friends, my home teachers, Sheila & Todd and my cousin, Molly. Of course my daughters were all very thoughtful and came to visit. Chris was between London and Germany I think but he sent me an email. At the funeral I got to visit with many friends from the past and met new friends from Oakley.

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling. "I wish i could speak to her again just to hear those dulcet tones - Urban Dictionary... and the more traditional definition: 1, pleasant to the ear; melodious. 2. pleasant or agreeable to the eye or the feelings; soothing.
