I got my computer back up after a couple of days. Jon's been working on it and so far it seems to be better. So glad to have tech support here! My friend told me a secret: "Macs break too!"

Macs are made of hardware just like PCs. Macs tend to break less often because they use higher quality parts on average than PCs do (there's a reason there are really cheap PC manufacturers, as well as the more expensive but higher quality ones). But hard drives have lots of moving parts, memory can get fried (seems to be what happened to yours), etc.
