Independence Day

Today is moving day for Jon and Karla so we won't be doing parades, etc. :(

Aubrey and family made it here safely so we got to see them. Josh was excited; Asher will have to get to know us again and he doesn't get too far away from his mom. Later we will have family birthday party for Alex who turned 4 on July 1 but waited for party until Josh "Buddy" could be here.

The bad news is my dishwasher broke. Bad timing with 10 of us living in this house this week. Trouble is it's the new-fangled, electronic type that is hard to fix. The repairman can't come until at least Monday (maybe later because I didn't schedule it). I did buy some more paper plates though.

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling.
