Yesterday we spent the day at the hospital. Chris got his hand caught in a snow blower. They told us at the hospital they get about two of these every snow storm. Chris' two fingers were badly smashed, the bones shattered and it required a hand surgeon to piece it back together. They're hoping for at least mostly useful fingers when it heals. Right now it is 5:00 AM and he is in excruciating pain. Please remember him in your prayers. The surgery is miraculous that they can even repair it. Chris was so angry at himself for not being as careful as he knew he should. The blades were stopped but apparently there's some kind of spring action which, as you release the clog, can result in the blades engaging again.
It hurts me to see my son in such pain. Every snow storm he goes out and does several neighbors' sidewalks and driveways, especially the elderly neighbors. It particularly hurts to see people injured doing good for others.
Jenn watched the kids and later Natalie came by so there was a houseful. Here are some photos.

This is where I share RANDOM rants and ruminations, beliefs, lists, dreams, goals, frustrations, bargains, and social injustices (EVAGATION, n. the act of wandering; excursion; a roving or rambling). More about me than you wanted to know. You may not agree with me but I hope you share my belief that what makes America great is freedom to have and express differing views. Enjoy peeking into my public journal if you want to know that part of me I share here. Enjoy!
This post made me cry. I wish I could help somehow. That's so awful.
