Update

By 1:00 PM yesterday we were able to talk to the nurse from the doctor's office. We placed the call early in the morning to ask for a stronger pain reliever but the doctor was in surgery. Meanwhile Chris became nauseous from the pain, lost his breakfast and felt pretty lousy. They did give him a stronger medication and something for nausea which seemed to help. It makes him drowsy but that's not such a bad thing when recovering from such an injury. He's bleeding a bit and they are not worried, but it makes a mess on his clothes because he has a hard time holding still and keeping the hand elevated at all times. He is in much better spirits and hopefully he was able to get a full night's sleep last night. He's a challenging patient. Kiyomi had a hard time keeping him down and he kept getting up to clean the kitchen, put the kids to bed, etc. He's a good dad and it's hard to stop him.

We continue to pray for his complete recovery and feel the Lord's blessings as the surgery went well. When he went in they weren't sure they would be able to keep his complete index finger so we know the blessings he received, telling him he would recover fully, have been realized. We appreciate the kind words of encouragement, sympathy and the prayers!
