On the Lighter Side of Cleaning...

This was too funny! Dr. Mercola is kind of a "natural" doc and this was in his always-interesting newsletter. It's hard to read the fine print here so I'll explain:

In the Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, the men’s urinals have a unique feature …a fly etched in each urinal. Research has indicated that it has reduced spillage by 80% by giving men something to focus on. (I have to wonder if the color of the urinals and tile helps give more illusion of clean as well!)

The color is just poor white balance on the digital camera. That's white porcelain and tile. :)

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling. "I wish i could speak to her again just to hear those dulcet tones - Urban Dictionary... and the more traditional definition: 1, pleasant to the ear; melodious. 2. pleasant or agreeable to the eye or the feelings; soothing.
