After (That's my mom by the car and Gary looking out the car window). My first car about 7 years later looked a lot like this one.
Our "Pixie" haircuts - Talk about extremes!
This was the beginning of the ugly years, I'm afraid. Carolyn had enough natural curl but mine - stick straight without even a bend! Eventually the hair grew out again. I do believe my hair worked best long - until I got old myself anyway. Grandma always loved short hair and I can remember her saying, "doesn't it feel good?" (No, I really can't say that it did) We also got lots more attention when our hair was long. Anybody can have short hair but long braids???? I guess mothers really don't want to take that on.
