Father's Day

On Sunday I went to Oakley to see my dad for Father's Day - something I haven't been able to do for a very long time. It was so nice. Gary, Jackie, and Brittany, Cindy and Don, Dad and Sandy were there. I took my camera but forgot to take photos until we were ready to leave then the camera quit working after one shot of my dad. I'll add it here anyway. We ate some wonderful BBQ - salmon, halibut, and corn grilled on the cob, along with other wonderful food. It was a beautiful drive and I passed sailboats and skiboats on Rockport reservoir on the way up. Then I went to Provo to see a friend and passed more beautiful water and boaters on Deer Creek reservoir. Made me wish I could be out there on the lake.

Blown away today by a gift that will last a long time (and that will make me think of someone every night). This was a delayed birthday gift (my birthday was actually 6 months ago).

I danced on Friday and Saturday nights with a very good dance partner. I also had a nice day on Saturday. Took care of my yard, enjoyed unexpected good company and pleasant activities even though it was a very hot day. A pretty nice weekend all in all.

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling.
