Recovering

Well, I'm at day five recovering from surgery. I don't want to go into details. Some things just shouldn't be discussed. I'm doing OK but pain meds have made me too groggy to function at full speed. Without them I can't function at any speed! Hopefully it will continue to improve. I have appreciated beautiful flowers and caring family/friends who are thoughtful and have helped me.

Fred started a new job today with a company called Tomax. I really don't know what it's all about - some kind of retail computer support work. They are happy because they hope to one day be able to get their own home again.

Who I am...

I'm "Dr. Mom," "Dex," "Merry Maid" (or Jetson's "Rosie"), "Betty Crocker," "Nurse Nancy," "Mom's B&B," "Miller Moving & Storage," "Dear Abby," "Got Junk?" "Google Maps," "Wiki-mom," "Memory Keeper" or "The Nanny" depending on who needs me at the moment. I'm a Mormon mom and grandma (traditional but sometimes unconventional). I like the new term for us boomer grandmas (glam-mother) because we have spent our whole lives redefining rules and stereotypes. WYSIWYG! I must have chocolate every day and I can say the alphabet backwards (fast!) - so can all my kids - our claim to fame!

Fundamental Principles of Our Religion

We don't spend our twenties trying to "find" ourselves....we know who we are. This gives us a jump-start on life!

Dulcet - adj. A sound or voice so gorgeous you just have to listen to it again and again no matter what. So recognizable that even the faintest hint of it in the distance can send your mind reeling.
